Samaritan’s Purse Discovery Teams are about coming alongside local people, to
live, work and learn with them in their day to day lives. Previous Discovery
Teams have turned their hand at fetching water, building mud houses, and
ploughing, but whatever task they have involved themselves with, they have
found that it’s even more about being than doing; more about relationships and
learning than about achieving a task.
This trip provides team members with the opportunity to see the WaSH related
work that Samaritan’s Purse is funding through our key partners in Uganda.
Accommodation will usually be in guest houses, but might possibly include a few
night in tents (Note: this might involve using drop toilets and having no showers).
Pre-trip training and orientation are provided. Expressions of interest are now sought from individuals and groups. We seek mixed age and mixed gender applicants with the heart, skills and health suitable to take part in this project, who are hungry to learn as well as eager to serve. Application forms will be sent to all who express an interest. Please contact Ruth Sanders on teams@samaritans-purse.org.uk.
