We are looking for someone to head up an exciting new initiative in Albania. In conjunction with the local church in Lushnje and building on work already done through short term teams we are hoping to set up a day care centre for those with learning disabilities.

The Children's Uplift Programme in Dhaka, Bangladesh ministers to some of the most vulnerable members of society, young people and children, especially girls, from poor communities who are at risk of becoming sex workers. The project is located in Dhaka, one of the world's most rapidly growing megacities. The social worker/counselor at CUP will be part of a team of professionals providing physical, educational, and emotional support to street children or other children at risk in Dhaka.

Are you burdened by the suffering of those dealing with HIV/AIDS issues? Now you can do something! This is a six-month ministry opportunity working with the Malawi HOPE for AIDS program. We have two very urgent needs at the moment – one is a Primary Grade 5/6 Teacher to cover from January 2010 – June 2010 and another is for a Secondary Science Teacher which needs to be filled as soon as possible. This is at Kathmandu International Study Centre in Nepal.

Picture the scene – a church hall packed full of children, young people, and leaders. Some playing games, others doing craft and some studying the bible together. Or how about a normally tranquil lake suddenly full of young people splashing around in canoes, trying to get their leaders as wet as possible but not fall in themselves! Or perhaps you might be able to imagine a group of boys on the beach praising God at sunset. Scenes like this were happening at Scripture Union Camps and Missions all over Northern Ireland last summer, as over 850 volunteers gave up a week or two to share God’s Good News with around 5000 children and young people - summer 2010 will be no different! Well hopefully we might get a bit more sun and a little less rain, but there will still be volunteers shining light into dark places all across the country and you could be part of it!
