Churches are key partners with MAP in its task of raising awareness of our Missional responsibilities and the many practical opportunities that are available to Christians today to engage in action.
The Church Relations Stream seeks to:
- Listen to the Churches and identify areas within their Mission strategies where MAP may be of service.
- Stimulate and empower ministry teams and church members to engage in Mission at home and abroad.
- Help organise and participate in local church events which will translate an interest in Mission into practical action and service. Such events might include a focus on a particular geographical part of the world, an exhibition of activities that Mission agencies engage in and how individuals can get involved in them, or training to work with a particular group. Examples of the latter are ‘World on our Doorstep’ events being held on the North Coast (October 2009), in Belfast (February 2010) and in Fermanagh to help churches reach out to International students and others who have come to live and work here from abroad.
- Connect churches to the agencies and resources that they need to be effective in their Mission witness.”
